The Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme is a government programme designed to promote the uptake of renewable and low-carbon electricity generation technologies. In simple words you get paid for what electricity you produce through Solar PV system. Even if you use all that electricity at your premises. Further Information can be found under following LINK.
How it works?
Once you get Solar PV panels installed at your premises, you contact electricity provider to register your install for FIT payments. They will send you application forms to be sent back with some documentation required. Your FIT payments will start from they day they receive the application forms.
Once FIT registration for your Solar PV system is complete, you will have to provide generation meter readings after every three months to receive payments.
What is Export Tariff?
It is the additional amount that you get on top of FIT for exporting every kilowatt-hour (kWh) of the surplus electricity produced through Solar PV system to the National Electricity Grid. Further Information can be found under following LINK.
